Following on from our AGM on 27th March, 2022, here is the current situation of The Tagore Centre UK and our vision for the future.

We are no longer sited at Alexandra Park Library and indeed there is no
prospect that we will return.  Accordingly, after agreements reached at
the AGM, all of the Tagore Centre books and other assets have been sent
to the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, where they will be archived
together in one collection. OCHS offers a comprehensive programme of
education, publishing and research, and we sincerely hope that our
materials will be put to excellent use in their new home.

It is our aim to carry on with Tagore Centre activities as far as is
practicable, and we are planning a programme of events to be held in
hired premises.

Before that, we hope that you will be able to join us on 7th May in
Gordon Square as usual to celebrate Rabindrajayanti in true Shantiniketan
style at the bust of Rabindranath Tagore.  We will be there between
12.00 and 1.00. All are very welcome to sing or recite Tagore’s
songs or poetry in your personal homage to Tagore.  You may also wish to bring a
bunch of flowers for the bust.

We are also planning a Sunday event on Sunday 12th June, to be held at
CUFOS hall near to Alexandra Park Library. Further details will follow
in due course, but please make a note in your diaries now!
