Athough the bust is finished and we have raised a substantial amount of funds we still need to make up a shortfall of £15K. We are therefore asking you to kindly donate to the cause please, in anyway you can.

2011 is the 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. There are celebrations happening to mark this momentous occasion across India and other parts of the world, including the UK.

The Tagore Centre UK has marked the occasion in three ways. A the three-day international symposium titled Revisiting Rabindranath... celebtrating 150 years which took place in May 2011.

The publication Rabindranath Tagore: A Timeless Mind, a collection of essays about Rabindranath Tagore by academics and fans alike from all over the world.

And finally, on 7 July 2011 in the heart of London, HRH The Prince of Wales unveiled a bust of India's greatest artist Rabindranath Tagore in Gordon Square to celebrate the poet's 150th Birth Anniversary. The bust was sculpted by artist Shenda Amery and she has done a fantastic job and we are forever grateful to her and to all of you that have donated already to the cause - thank you from all at The Tagore Centre UK.
This is a gift to the next generation, a legacy to remember Rabindranath Tagore - a great poet, a versatile genius and a great son of India, and for that we are all grateful.

If you would like to make a donation for the amount of your choice, please send a cheque payable to:
