Live performance: Iffattara Khanam
30 July @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Iffattara Khanam is an accomplished and a very well-known popular singer from Bangladesh.
She was educated at Rajshahi University and trained as a Rabindrasangeet performer for five years at the prestigious musical institute, Chhayanot, in Dhaka. Although her training is in Rabindrasangeet, like all accomplished singers, she can switch between various musical genres such as Nazrul Geeti, folk music, modern and older Adhunik songs.
Every fortnight Iffat can be found presenting Je gaan kokhono bhola jaina on Channel 1 Europe. She also presents Ei gaan tomar aamar every Tuesday on Betar- Bangla.
Iffat has performed in over forty stage productions and is also a very respected script writer. She has worked with many renowned music directors from Bangladesh, including Imon Shaha and Bollywood legend Bappi Lahiri.
We’re over the moon that she will be joining us at the Centre with a performance of much loved modern Bengali songs, and those from from yester-years.
