Professor Choudhuri is an academic and author on subjects as diverse as Comparative Literature, Aesthetics and Religion, written in Hindi and in English. He is a Professor who has graced various academic faculties in  India, Europe and the UK. He has also been a distinguished Cultural Ambassador for India.

For the lecture on Saturday 4 August 2018 it is relevant to note that  he was invited by The Lu Xun Cultural Foundation of China to participate in their 5-day conference in the universities in Beijing, Shanghai and  Shaoxing to speak on Tagore and Lu Xun in 2016.

He delivered three lectures:

  • ‘China’s image in Tagore’s Work’;
  • ‘Where to situate Lu  Xun in the conflict between the other Asia and the New Asia and  Rabindranath Tagore and  Liang Qichao and  a detailed analysis of the  virulent opposition of  Tagore during his visit to China in 1924’;
  • ‘Tagore and Lu Xun as  transnational writers.’

We are indeed honoured that he has agreed to deliver a talk at the Centre.

We expect this to be great event and hope that you will  be able to join us. Please note this event is on a Saturday.
