Lecture: Tagore and Einstein

Prof. Joydeb Nandi and his daughter Dr. Lilian Nandi will present a joint lecture focussing on the meeting of these great minds. They will dwell on the theme that scientific ideas hold their roots in the arts and vice-versa as well as the nature of friendship between the two stalwarts in the arts and science respectively. Prof  Nandi taught in the B.E. College, Kolkata and later in the UK. Lilian is a digital technology specialist.

Garland Ceremony Tagore Statue Gordon’s Square

A chance to return to the scene where HRH The Prince of Wales unveiled the first London statue of Rabindranath Tagore in Gordon's Square, the heart of Bloomsbury. Since then it's been a tradition of friends of The Tagore Centre UK to convene at the bust and celebrate with impromptu music and poetry recitals.

Documentary Screenings

Two documentary films will be shown on this Sunday event; one on Swami Vivekananda and the other on Begam Rukeya, a well-known Muslim feminist, educationist, and a passionate social activist against 'purdah'. She founded the Sakhwat Memorial School for Muslim Girls in Kolkata.
